With a likely departure, Mbappé lives a new reality at Paris Saint-Germain

Forward Kylian Mbappé, it seems, is expected to leave Paris Saint-Germain at the end of this season and join Real Madrid. His imminent departure may have helped reduce his time on the field. The French star was replaced once again by Luis Enrique last Sunday, in the Parisian team’s 2-0 victory over rival Olympique de Marseille in the French Championship, and left the field irritated.

In the last ten games, Mbappé has only played the full 90 minutes four times. During this period, he started as a starter on six occasions and was substituted on two. Furthermore, the Frenchman started on the bench in four games, and in one he didn’t even enter the field.

Until February of this year, the striker had played full time in almost every match of the season, entering the second half in just two. However, after speculation about his departure increased, the scenario changed.

In the game against Olympique Marseille, Kylian did not hide his dissatisfaction with the substitution at all. He left without greeting coach Luis Enrique and went straight to the locker room. After the match, the Spanish coach was asked about the Parisian number 10’s reaction and gave a harsh answer:

“Was he angry? I’m the coach, I’m the one who makes the decisions. If you don’t understand them, I don’t care,” he said.

Paris Saint-Germain takes to the field again this Wednesday, at 4:10 pm (Brasília time), against Rennes, at Parc des Princes, in the semi-final of the French Cup. Despite the controversy, the expectation is that Kylian Mbappé will start the match.
