Titov said that Zinkovsky could replace the arrested Promes at Spartak
Former Spartak Moscow midfielder Yegor Titov spoke out about replacing the club’s legionnaire Quincy Promes, who was arrested in the UAE. His words are reported by the Championship.
Titov named the team’s midfielder Anton Zinkovsky as a suitable candidate. “He has improved a lot. I hope not right away, but we will see after some time in the person of Zinkovsky Promes. He both scores and passes,” noted the ex-red-and-white player. Zinkovsky has been playing for Spartak since 2022.
On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Dubai airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Two weeks later, the football player was arrested at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office for possible further extradition.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison for drug smuggling. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife.
