Tennis player Sabalenka thanked fans for their support after Koltsov’s death
World number two Aryna Sabalenka took to Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned) to fans after the death of her former lover, ex-hockey player and coach Konstantin Koltsov.
“I want to take a moment and thank all my fans for the outpouring of love and support during this difficult period. Your words mean a lot, I keep them inside me every day,” the tennis player wrote.
Koltsov’s death became known in the United States on March 19. The police are considering suicide as one of the versions of what happened.
Koltsov is known for his performance in the NHL for the Pittsburgh Penguins team, in Russia he played for many years for the Ufa Salavat Yulaev, and shortly before his death he left the coaching staff of the team from the capital of Bashkiria.
