Alexander Medvedev: head coach Rotenberg and his staff will continue to work with SKA
Chairman of the SKA Board of Directors Alexander Medvedev answered a question about the future of the team’s coaching staff. His words are quoted on the club’s website.
Medvedev announced that head coach Roman Rotenberg and his staff will continue to work with SKA. “In the off-season, we plan to strengthen the team in a targeted manner without sudden and chaotic movements and in the next championship, with renewed vigor, continue the fight for the Gagarin Cup,” he added.
On March 25, SKA was eliminated in the second round of the Gagarin Cup, losing the series to Avtomobilist with a score of 1-4. The last meeting ended in victory for the Ekaterinburg team with a score of 5:4.
For the first time in ten years, SKA failed to reach the semi-finals of the Gagarin Cup. Under Rotenberg’s leadership, the team did not reach the tournament finals in all three seasons: before that, the club twice lost to CSKA Moscow in the Western Conference finals.
