Tim Tszyu suffered the first defeat in his career from American Fundora
Tim Tszyu, the son of former absolute world champion Konstantin Tszyu, suffered the first defeat of his career from American Sebastian Fundora. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
The fight took place in Las Vegas and lasted 12 rounds.
Tszyu Jr. for the second time failed to defend his World Boxing Organization (WBO) junior middleweight title. He also missed the opportunity to take the World Boxing Council (WBC) title in a similar weight category.
On October 1, 2023, Tim Tszyu received the WBO world title in the weight category up to 69.9 kilograms without a fight. This happened after the former holder of the belt, American Jermell Charlo, began a fight with Mexican Saul Alvarez in Las Vegas, in which he lost.
29-year-old Tim Tszyu is the son of former absolute world boxing champion Kostya Tszyu. Tim has 24 victories, 17 of which were knockouts.
Last November, Konstantin Tszyu’s youngest son Nikita won the Australian junior middleweight title. The 25-year-old athlete turned out to be stronger than his compatriot Dylan Biggs.
