Éder Militão recovers from serious injury and is once again available at Real Madrid

After more than seven months on the sidelines due to a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee, Brazilian defender Éder Militão was once again linked to Real Madrid. He will be available to coach Carlo Ancelotti for this Sunday’s match against Athletic Bilbao.

This Saturday morning, even before the Spanish club released details about the game, Ancelotti had already confirmed Militão’s return during a press conference.

“Militão is very well physically and will return to the squad. I don’t know if he will have minutes on the field or not, but he needs time to get back to his best level,” he said.

The Italian coach also responded about the possibility of Militão starting against Manchester City, in the quarter-finals of the Champions League. The first leg is scheduled for April 9th, a Tuesday.

“He needs time on the field to get back to his best level. His presence against Manchester City is not ruled out. There could be a 70% chance of him playing,” he said.

Despite counting on the defender’s return for the match against Athletic, Ancelotti will not be able to use one of the team’s main players. Vinicius Júnior is suspended due to the accumulation of yellow cards.

Real Madrid and Athletic Bilbao face each other at the Santiago Bernabéu this Sunday, at 4pm (Brasília time). The match is valid for the 30th round of the Spanish Championship.
