With Liverpool watching, Manchester City and Arsenal put English title chances at stake

The English Championship will not be decided next Sunday, but the panorama of the fight for the title may become clearer: Manchester City (3rd) hosts leaders Arsenal, with both already knowing the result of Liverpool’s duel (2nd) against Brighton ( 8th).

All English football fans will be keeping an eye on what will happen at the Etihad Stadium, at 12:30 pm (GMT) in the clash between Citizens and Gunners, and Pep Guardiola’s team cannot think about stumbling if they don’t want to lose ground.

With ten games left in the championship, Manchester City are one point behind Arsenal and Liverpool, but they have a terrible calendar in April, as next week they host Aston Villa (4th), before the first leg of the Champions League quarter-final against Real Madrid, and with Crystal Palace in the middle of the way, on April 6th.

Another attraction of the game against Arsenal will be the private duel between Guardiola and Mikel Arteta, who learned all the secrets of the Catalan master in the three seasons he was an assistant at Manchester City (2016-2019), before taking over the London club.

The duel in Manchester will be played after the result of Liverpool, which hours earlier, at 10 am, hosts Brighton, a difficult opponent who has been showing a great performance under the command of the Italian Roberto de Zerbi.

In the fight for a place in the next Champions League, Aston Villa (4th) hosts Wolverhampton (9th) on Saturday, while Tottenham (5th) will play at home against Luton Town (17th).

In turn, Manchester United (6th, nine points behind Villa and six behind Tottenham) desperately needs to beat Brentford (15th) on Saturday to avoid saying goodbye to their chances of competing in the continent’s main competition next season.
