This Friday, Vinícius Júnior was elected the best player of the month of March in the Spanish Championship. The Real Madrid striker scored five goals in three games during that period and picked up the award for the first time this season.
Vinícius Júnior’s performances helped the Spanish club win seven points out of a possible nine in March.
The Brazilian scored two goals in the 2-2 draw against Valencia, opened the scoring for Real Madrid in the 4-0 defeat of Celta Vigo and scored two more in the 4-2 victory against Osasuna.

Vini Jr beat off competition from Gorka Guruzeta, from Athletic Club, Brais Méndez, from Real Sociedad, Alexander Sorloth, from Valencia, and Robert Lewandowski, from Barcelona, winner of the award in February.
Real Madrid remains at the top of the Spanish Championship with an eight-point lead over second-placed Barcelona. With only nine games left until the end of the championship, the Merengue club only depends on itself to win the 36th national title in its history.
Carlo Ancelotti’s team is also still alive in the Champions League race. Real face Manchester City in the quarter-finals.
Vinícius Júnior and Real Madrid return to the field this Sunday, at 4 pm (Brasília time), against Athletic Club in the 30th round of the Spanish Championship.
