Barcelona coach Xavi praises Vitor Roque’s versatility

This Friday morning, Barcelona coach Xavi held a press conference and spoke about striker Vitor Roque. The commander praised the Brazilian and his versatility.

“This week, he played in different ways, on the wing, inside, as a 9, in the games we played against the youth teams. I think he is doing very well and has had a great ability to adapt. He is already helping us and that is the most important thing. Besides the work, which he always has, the spirit of sacrifice… he always gives us goals and assists, the other day he caused an expulsion. This is Vítor Roque, a player who can do things happen for the team and the group.”

Despite the praise, Xavi has used the 19-year-old little. Vitor Roque has played eleven games since arriving at Barcelona in January this year, and has played just 239 minutes on the field. The striker has two goals scored and only one match as a starter.

The expectation is that the center forward, who has also been used by the sides with Xavi, will receive more minutes on the field for the remainder of the season. During the FIFA Data period, Vitor Roque was able to train for longer with his teammates and adapt to the team’s playing style.

Furthermore, Barça will face Paris Saint-Germain next Wednesday in the quarter-finals of the Champions League and the importance of the clash could mean that the coach rotates the squad in the national league.

After the FIFA Date, Barcelona takes to the field this Saturday, at 5pm (Brasília time), against Las Palmas, at the Lluís Companys Olympic Stadium, for the 30th round of the Spanish Championship.
