James Rodríguez, from São Pauloand Richard Ríos, from Palm treeswere starters, but it was Arias, from Fluminense, who scored one of the goals of the game. Córdoba and Asprilla scored the other Colombian goals, and Hagi and Tanase scored for the Romanians.
Colombia ends Data FIFA with two victories in the two matches it played. Romania ends the friendly period with a draw and a defeat.
The Colombians return to the field on June 8th, for a friendly against the United States, before the Copa América. Romania faces Bulgaria on June 4th, also in a friendly.
Colombia opened the scoring at the beginning of the match, in the sixth minute. Striker Jhon Córdoba received a cross from Mojica and headed the ball into the corner to score the Colombians’ first in Madrid.
The Colombian team scored the second goal in the first half. In the 35th minute, Jhon Arias, from Fluminense, well positioned in the area, took advantage of Luis Díaz’s pass and hit the goalkeeper to extend the score.
Colombia maintained the pace in the second half and, in the 34th minute, scored the third goal. Asprilla received a pass from Santiago Arias and hit the corner to beat the Romanian goalkeeper once again.
Not happy with the result, Romania went on the attack and scored in the 39th minute. Hagi came face to face with the Colombian goalkeeper and finished to score the Romanians’ first goal of the game. Ten minutes later, Tanase scored the Romanian team’s second, but was unable to avoid defeat.
