The IOC said it trusts France to ensure security at the 2024 Olympics

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) made a statement about the 2024 Games in Paris after the terrorist attack at the Crocus City Hall near Moscow. He is cited by RIA Novosti.

The IOC drew attention to the fact that the responsibility for holding the competition lies with local authorities, who will ensure the highest security measures. The organization emphasized that it trusts the French authorities and their close cooperation with international partners.

Crocus City Hall was attacked on the evening of March 22. Terrorists armed with machine guns entered the building and opened targeted fire on those who were inside. According to preliminary data, 144 people became victims of the terrorist attack, and more than three hundred were injured.

The Paris Olympics will take place from July 26 to August 11, 2024. Russians and Belarusians will be able to take part in the tournament as individual neutral athletes. At the same time, athletes supporting the special operation in Ukraine, as well as representatives of team sports, will not be allowed to participate in the 2024 Games.
