Rice revealed he was honored to receive the opportunity to captain his team at England’s main stadium. It is worth remembering that Wembley was the stage for England’s only world title, in world Cup from 1966.
“I’ve grown a lot as a person and professional since my first call-up at the age of 19 (in 2019). Fifty appearances, it will be an honor. Entering Wembley in front of my friends and family… I’m speechless,” said Rice.
In addition to this news, Southgate guaranteed the presence of Ivan Toney, from Brentford, in the clash with Belgium.
“Ivan (Toney) is definitely involved in the game. With everything that’s happened, the original idea or plan for the week is a little different. We’re finding out more about players and that helps a lot.”
