Vini Jr’s teammate, Carvajal believes that Spain is not a racist country

Vini Jr. has constantly been a victim of racism in Spanish football. Carvajal, the Brazilian’s teammate at Real Madrid, held a press conference this Monday and said he believes that Spain is not a racist country.

“I don’t think Spain is a racist country. I come from a humble neighborhood in Leganés, there has never been a problem… I have friends with a different skin color, and there has never been a problem. There are cases of people entering stadiums to vent, and they shouldn’t go in anymore. They insult with what they know hurts”, he said.

Brazil and Spain face each other this Tuesday under the slogan “One Skin”. The friendly match will reinforce the commitment of both entities against racism and violence in football.

In addition to Vini, Rodrygo is also Carvajal’s teammate at Real Madrid. The Spanish full-back explained how he can stop the Brazilians in the duel.

“If I can enjoy the minutes against Brazil, I will use all the weapons I know from Rodrygo, Vinicius and company. It won’t be easy for them, we are strong in defense”, he explained.

“Against a player of his caliber [Vini Jr.] It’s difficult to have things clear. With this talent, he dominates anyone. He does not accept threats, covers spaces and receives help. That could be the key,” he added.

The match will take place at 5:30 pm (Brasília time) this Tuesday, at the Santiago Bernabéu, a stadium owned by Real Madrid itself.
