Footballer Dani Alves, convicted of rape, released on bail
Brazilian footballer Dani Alves was released from custody on bail of one million euros. Marca reports.
This decision was made by the High Court of Catalonia. The athlete will remain free while the appeal is pending. He is prohibited from leaving the country, has surrendered his Brazilian and Spanish passports, and is required to appear in court as required.
The Brazilian was arrested on January 20, 2023. According to the victim, on December 30, 2022, in one of the nightclubs in Barcelona, the football player locked her in a toilet, where he beat and raped her. The court sentenced the player to 4.5 years in prison. He appealed the verdict.
