The meeting was supposed to take place on March 23 in Baku. Spartak thanked the opponent for their understanding and promised to play with the team in the near future. “We mourn together with all of Russia,” the red and white wrote.
Earlier on March 23, the bureau of the executive committee of the Russian Football Union (RFU) decided to postpone matches of the current round of all competitions held under the auspices of the organization to reserve dates due to the terrorist attack in the Moscow region. The list includes matches of the Women’s Super League, First League, Second League, Futsal Super League, as well as regional competitions.
Crocus City Hall was attacked on the evening of March 22. Terrorists armed with machine guns entered the building and opened targeted fire on those who were inside. According to preliminary data, 150 people became victims of the terrorist attack, and more than a hundred were injured.
