Manchester United plans to offer around R$250 million to Wolverhampton to count on Brazilian João Gomes next season.
According to British newspaper The Mirror, the English club believes that the 23-year-old midfielder is the ideal player to replace Casemiro.
João Gomes arrived at Wolverhampton in January 2023. Since arriving in England, he has become one of the team’s main players and has become a target for big clubs. Apart from Manchester United, Arsenal and Tottenham also show interest in the former Flamengo player.
Furthermore, the Brazilian fits the profile of the athlete that United’s new owner, Jim Ratcliffe, wants for the team. The director has already said that he intends to start investing in young players with prospects for appreciation in the future.

Ratcliffe no longer wants Manchester United to pay high transfer fees for established stars. The club paid around 445 million reais for Casemiro, for example.
The 32-year-old veteran arrived at United in 2022 and after a good first season, he has been facing physical problems (he only played 21 games in 2023/2024) causing the club to start thinking about replacements.
Amidst the good moment he was experiencing, João Gomes was called up to defend the Brazilian team. The player will be available to Dorival Junior for the friendlies against England, this Saturday, and Spain, next Tuesday.
