Arsenal announced this Wednesday the contract renewal with Japanese player Takehiro Tomiyasu. The club did not inform until when the contract was extended, however, the journalist Fabrizio Romano he added that it is until 2026, with the option of extending for another season.
At 25 years old, Tomiyasu’s main position is right back, but he can also play as a defender or even as a midfielder. He joined Arsenal in 2021, from Bologna, and has already played 73 games for the club.

Edu Gaspar, a Brazilian who is Arsenal’s football director, celebrated the new agreement and praised the athlete.
“We are very excited to have Tomi with us for more years. He has enormous qualities on and off the field, offering a lot of strength and versatility to our team. Tomi is a top professional and it is great that he will continue to play an important role in the coming years as we work to achieve our goals,” he said.
Coach Mikel Arteta added: “Tomi is loved by everyone and has been an integral part of the team since joining us. The way he trains, with his desire and determination to be the best version of himself every day is admirable “.
Tomiyasu is also a constant figure in the Japanese national team’s squad. There are 41 matches defending his country, including the Tokyo Olympic Games in 2021 and the Asian Cup this year.
