The striker and captain of the France team, Kylian Mbappé, did not want to comment on his future and confirm his departure from Paris Saint-Germain at the end of the season, during a press conference this Friday, the day before the friendly against Germany.
“I haven’t announced anything until now because I had nothing to announce. I’ve always said that the day I have something to say, I’ll say it. I’ve never hidden, I’m not afraid. I’m sorry for disappointing you, I have nothing to announce,” explained Mbappé when asked about his future in club football.
According to a source close to PSG, Mbappé informed Parisian officials at the beginning of February that he will not renew his contract and will leave the club in June, seven years after his arrival. Real Madrid is the big favorite to be his destination.
“We are in the final sprint (of the season), alive in all competitions. The idea of achieving a treble is much more important than the question of whether I will stay or not. We have important games coming up, we are focused on that” , he stated.

Mbappé was also asked about his desire to participate in the Paris Olympic Games this year and reiterated that this decision does not depend on him, but on the club he is at at the moment.
“I have always had the same desire, I said that the Olympic Games in Paris are a very special event and that I wanted to participate. But I have also always said that it does not depend on me. My intention has not changed, but the final decision does not correspond to me. I am in a moment in my life in which I prefer to take a step back. If I go, I will live a dream; if I don’t go, I will have to accept it”, he concluded.
Real Madrid, which is rumored to be Mbappé’s destination for next season, sent a message to the French Football Federation to inform them that it will not release any of its players for the Olympic Games.
