The new owner of Manchester United, Jim Ratcliffe, spoke this Tuesday about some reinforcement and planning issues at the English club. Among them, the businessman commented on a possible signing of Bellingham and Mbappé and valued the recruitment work.
“Buy Bellingham? The solution is not to spend a lot of money on a few big players. If we look at the last 10 years, we see that they spent a lot of money. The first thing we have to do is put the right people in the right places to manage, organize the club and ensure that recruitment is done correctly. This is a vital part of running a football club,” he said in an interview with the Geraint Thomas Cycling Club podcast.

The agent also said that he hopes to find future stars instead of spending millions of dollars on already established players.
“I would rather find the next Mbappé. Instead of spending a fortune to buy success. It’s not so smart to sign Mbappé, anyone can understand that. What’s more difficult is finding the next Mbappé, the next Bellingham, the next Roy Keane.”
In recent seasons, Manchester United spent large amounts on signings, but did not achieve the expected success. The club has gone 11 years without winning the English Championship and 16 years without winning the Champions League.
Finally, Jim Ratcliffe revealed which player from the past he would like to bring back to the “Red Devils”.
“I would bring Paul Scholes. That’s the player I’m most missing,” he concluded.
