Miami police: there are no suspicions of a violent nature of Koltsov’s death
The Miami-Dade County Police Department, Florida, USA, made a statement about the death of Konstantin Koltsov, assistant head coach of the Ufa hockey team Salavat Yulaev. He is cited by RIA Novosti.
“Investigators have no suspicions of a violent nature of the death,” the statement says. It is noted that the investigation into the circumstances of the incident continues.
The death of 42-year-old Koltsov became known on March 19. The police are considering suicide as one of the versions of what happened.
Koltsov is known for his performance in the National Hockey League for the Pittsburgh Penguins. In Russia, he played for Severstal, Metallurg (Novokuznetsk), Ak Bars, Spartak and Atlant. As part of Salavat Yulaev, Koltsov won the Gagarin Cup, and since 2022 he has been a member of the club’s coaching staff.
