Spartak will demand 20 million euros from Promes if the contract is terminated
The management of Moscow Spartak has written a new clause in the contract of the Dutch striker Quincy Promes, convicted of drug trafficking. RBC learned about this.
According to the source, in case of early termination of the contract on its own initiative, the club will demand up to 20 million euros from the player. It is noted that a significant violation of the contract, which is the reason for its termination, will be considered absence from the club’s location for unreasonable reasons for 48 hours during the competitive period and 96 hours during the out-of-competition period.
On March 13, Promes was arrested in Dubai at the request of the Dutch prosecutor’s office. It was noted that the detention was related to the possibility of further extradition of the football player to the country. Prior to this, he was detained at border control at the country’s airport for getting into an accident and leaving the scene.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison for drug smuggling. In the summer of 2023, he received 18 months in prison in his homeland for attacking his brother with a knife.
