Avangard defeated Lokomotiv and reduced the gap in the KHL playoff series
Yaroslavl Lokomotiv lost to Avangard Omsk in the second match of the second round of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) playoffs. The results are available on the tournament website.
The meeting took place in Yaroslavl and ended with the guests winning with a score of 2:1 in overtime. Defender Semyon Chistyakov and forward Reed Boucher scored goals among the winners. Lokomotiv’s only goal was scored by forward Stepan Nikulin.
Thus, Avangard reduced the gap in the series – 1-2. The series will last until four victories. The next match between the teams will take place in Yaroslavl. It will take place on March 22.
In the first round of the playoffs, Lokomotiv knocked out the current winner of the Gagarin Cup, CSKA Moscow. Avangard turned out to be stronger than Lada from Togliatti.
