The head of the All-Russian Rhythmic Gymnastics Federation, Irina Viner, appreciated the anthem prepared by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) for neutral athletes who will take part in the 2024 Summer Games in Paris. Her words are quoted by RIA Novosti.

Wiener stated that the composition is similar to a funeral march. “To travel in such a status – without an anthem, without a flag, without fans, without leadership, without the press and without participation in the opening and closing parades – is humiliating!” – she added.

Earlier, the IOC approved the anthem and flag for the Russians and Belarusians, who will perform at the Games in Paris in neutral status. They have nothing to do with countries. It also became known that neutral athletes would be prohibited from participating in the opening ceremony.

Earlier it became known about the boycott of competitions by Russian gymnasts. A similar decision was made by representatives of boxing and artistic gymnastics, as well as individual athletes from other sports.
