St. Petersburg Zenit beat Nizhny Novgorod in the decisive match of the Final Four of the Winline Russian Basketball Cup. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.

The meeting took place on Sunday, March 17, and ended with a score of 64:55 in favor of the blue-white-blue. The most productive player of the meeting was Zenit defender Trent Fraser, who scored 18 points. He was also recognized as the most valuable player of the finals.

In the match for third place, Ekaterinburg Uralmash met with Moscow MBA. The Ural club won with a score of 82:70. The most productive player of the meeting with 25 points was Uralmash defender Kirill Pisklov.

Zenit won the Russian Cup for the first time in history. Previously, the team twice reached the decisive matches of the tournament, in which it lost.

Four clubs from the VTB United League played in the Final Four of the Russian Cup for the second time in history. The first time this happened was in 2014, when UNICS Kazan, Khimki near Moscow, Krasny Oktyabr Volgograd and Lokomotiv-Kuban Krasnodar reached the decisive stage of the tournament.

The preliminary stage of the Russian Cup took place from September 11, 2023 to February 17, 2024. Its participants included 37 teams, eight of which represented the VTB United League, 13 – the Super League, seven – the Major League, and another nine were youth or amateur.
