In Russia, they pointed out a negative criterion for the admission of Russians to the 2024 Olympics

Pozdnyakov pointed out the criterion for admitting Russians to the 2024 Games about condemning the SVO

The President of the Russian Olympic Committee (ROC), Stanislav Pozdnyakov, in his Telegram channel pointed out the negative criterion for the admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Games in Paris from the International Olympic Committee (IOC), which is associated with the condemnation of the SVO in Ukraine.

Pozdnyakov wondered what exactly the IOC understands as indicators of support. He considered that blurred boundaries of the definition could lead to a ban on participation in competitions.

Earlier on March 15, the IOC announced that the admission criteria for athletes in neutral status, published on December 8, 2023, will not be changed. It is noted that the IOC Executive Committee will decide on the implementation of these principles at a meeting in Lausanne, Switzerland, which will be held from March 19 to 20.

On December 8, 2023, the IOC announced the admission of Russians and Belarusians to the Olympics in Paris. They will be able to take part in the tournament as Individual Neutral Athletes (AIN). At the same time, athletes who support a special operation in Ukraine, or who have connections with the armed forces or security agencies of Russia and Belarus will not be allowed to participate in the Games.
