The Portuguese coached his last game on Sunday, in 2-2 against Besiktas that marked the comeback of Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia, overcome an injury.
The Fenerbahce in Estambul, one of the three most traditional clubs in Turkey, he dismissed his coach, the Portuguese Vitor Pereira, after the match against Besiktas on Sunday, which ended 2-2 and prompted requests for resignation from the fans.
“An agreement has been reached with our soccer coach Vitor Pereira regarding the termination of his contract and our paths separate”, indicated the club in a brief note, published on its website, in which it thanks him for the services provided and wishes him luck.
The 53-year-old Portuguese coach, took over the Canarian team last July, which he already managed from 2015 to 2016.
The Fenerbahçe is in fifth position in the Turkish Super League, ahead of Besiktas, who just 11 days ago also gave up their coach after a losing streak in the Champions League.
The party that left Pereira out was, on the other hand, the return of Ecuadorian striker Enner Valencia after seven weeks of absence due to injury.
