Irina Rodnina: there is no evidence of Eteri Tutberidze’s guilt in the Kamila Valieva case
Three-time Olympic champion, State Duma deputy Irina Rodnina assessed Eteri Tutberidze’s claims to the Honored Coach of the USSR Tatyana Tarasova. Her words are quoted by Sport24.
Rodnina said that any accusation requires evidence. She emphasized that, despite the fact that Tutberidze was responsible for the health of figure skater Kamila Valieva, there is no evidence of her guilt.
On March 12, Tarasova said that only a coach could give Valieva a doping drug. In response to this, Tutberidze demanded an official apology, calling the specialist’s words slander.
On January 29, Valieva was disqualified for four years. The athlete was deprived of gold for winning the team tournament at the 2022 Olympic Games as part of the Russian team, as well as the Russian and European champion titles.
