Most of us have at least one pair of white socks lurking in a drawer. What starts out as a fresh, dazzling white pair of socks inevitably loses its luster. Ultimately, in a simple competition between dirt and white socks, there is usually only one winner. But it doesn’t necessarily have to be that way. Not with the help of several common household items, including baking soda, vinegar and lemon juice.

Baking soda is a great weapon in your arsenal to combat stale white socks. There are several ways to use it. Then, after squeezing them dry, wash them in the washing machine, adding 150-200 ml of baking soda to the detergent drawer, along with regular powder or liquid

Lemon juice appears time and time again in home cleaning methods due to its stain-removing properties. This is because the acid found in lemons is antibacterial, antiseptic, and acts as a natural bleach. Even throwing gray socks into a warm bowl of water soaked in freshly squeezed lemon juice for 2-3 hours can work wonders.

Use vinegar to get rid of stubborn stains. This is a brilliant way to deal with worn-out socks

Like lemons, white vinegar has its own acidic properties that remove stubborn stains. Add a cup of white vinegar to a liter of boiled water, then leave the socks to soak overnight. The next day your white socks should be much lighter.
