American Robinson praised Russian Timkin for fighting with him in a KHL match
American forward of the Chelyabinsk “Traktor” Charles Robinson praised the Russian striker of the Ufa “Salavat Yulaev” Evgeniy Timkin, who fought with him in the playoff match of the Continental Hockey League (KHL). His words are quoted by Sport Express.
The US player admitted that he respects his opponent. “He did his job, acted like a real man. Respect to him for standing up for his teammate. I was just defending myself,” Robinson said.
The fight between Robinson and Timkin occurred on March 4 in the third game of the first round of the playoffs. The opponents exchanged several blows, but both remained on their feet. The referees gave them a five-minute penalty.
The series between Traktor and Salavat Yulaev consisted of six matches. The Chelyabinsk club won with a score of 4:2.
