National team coach Sorin called Guberniev a bastard because of the situation with the collapse of skiers
The senior coach of the Russian cross-country skiing team, Yegor Sorin, responded to commentator Dmitry Guberniev, who condemned those who defend the organizers of the women’s mass start at the Students’ Spartakiad, where there was a massive overcrowding of athletes. The altercation took place on the Telegram channel of Sorin’s group.
Sorin called the jury’s decision to hold the races, despite the difficult weather conditions, correct. “Egor, aren’t you ashamed to defend scoundrels? So, purely humanly?” — Guberniev wrote to him in the comments.
In response to this, Sorin called the journalist a scoundrel. “Until the end of the official check and assessment of the actions of the people responsible for holding a specific race and the Spartakiad as a whole, you allow yourself to insult and throw mud at people, using your capabilities on TV,” the coach said, noting that Guberniev’s behavior is human and -malely wrong.
Earlier, the head of the Russian Ski Racing Federation, Elena Vyalbe, criticized skiers after a massive crash. She stated that the reason for what happened was the low level of the athletes.
A massive collapse during a ten-kilometer race occurred in Sochi on March 8. A total of 18 skiers were injured and were hospitalized. The prosecutor’s office of the Adler district of Sochi began an investigation.
