Aleksandr Vlasov (Bora-hansgrohe) won the seventh and penultimate stage of Paris-Nice on Saturday, March 9, and the American Brandon McNulty (UAE Emirates) retained the lead of the general classification.

The organization announced on March 7 that the route of the seventh stage was going to suffer cuts due to bad weather conditions. In the fight between the favorites, Remco Evenepoel (Soudal-Quick Step) attacked 4 kilometers from the finish linebut failed to leave its rivals behind. Therefore, Brandon McNulty continues to lead the general classificationnow with 4 seconds ahead of Jorgenson which is second. Skjelmose takes third place 35 seconds behind the leader, Evenepoel is fourth at 36, Luke Plapp (Jayco AlUla) fifth at 47 and Roglic sixth at 1 minute and 21 seconds.

As far as Basque cyclists are concerned, Pello Bilbao (Bahrain Victorious) is 24th overall 15 minutes and 42 seconds behind the leader, while Ion Izagirre (Cofidis) is 30º 22 minutes and 46 seconds behind McNulty.
