The Argentine horse Che Corredor won the 1,400-meter competition in the classic held last Sunday at the Miguel Salem Dibo racetrack. The test was held in posthumous tribute to Diego Aguirre Mc Dermott, former president of the owners in the turf.
Che Corredor had no problems getting first place and covering the journey 1 minute, 26 seconds and 06 hundredths, with the Peruvian Luis Hurtado at the controls. In the initial sections, Che Corredor and Crazy Freud pounced on the avant-garde sites, and nearby were Sing It First, Maraka, Princesa Egipcia and at the close Azpirezca. Halfway through, Crazy Freud and Che Corredor met in a sensational heads-up to relegate Sing It First and other opponents seeking to improve positions.
In the final curve Che Corredor took control and thus the specimen of the stud Tres Patines was able to detach himself by a length and a half at the goal, achieving victory.
In the special Grandinho beat Najran Princess and Qué Sera in the narrowest race closing of the day and by a minimal advantage. Grandinho won in the 1,100 meters, marking 1 minute, 08 seconds and 23 hundredths for the distance, riding the good apprentice Daniel Álvarez Jr.
While in the colt test, the programming race, in the 1,000 meter distance, Balero won the kilometer, a distance in which he recorded 1 min 03 s 06 cs. Other winners: Darlin Catta, in the first; Kike, in the second (Montubia distanced); Kadir, in the third; Rahy’s Song, in the fifth; and Alerión in the final race of the date (all these were run in 1,100 meters).
