MMA fighter Bibert Tumenov was in intensive care before a fight at the ASA 172 tournament

Russian mixed style (MMA) fighter Bibert Tumenov was in intensive care before a fight in Moscow at the ACA 172 tournament. The head of the Absolute Championship Akhmat (ACA) promotion, Alexey Yatsenko, told RIA Novosti.

Yatsenko said that the athlete underwent surgery and his condition is stable. “There is no longer a threat to life. It’s important for us now to understand what’s wrong with his health,” he said.

On March 9, Tumenov was supposed to fight with compatriot Kurban Taigibov as part of the ASA Featherweight Grand Prix in Moscow. Tumenov has 13 victories and two defeats in fights according to the rules of mixed martial arts. Taigibov has 14 wins and three losses.

In October 2022, Tumenov and Andrei Goncharov started a fight during a live broadcast of the TV channel. First, the athletes had a duel of glances, and then entered into a verbal skirmish. Tumenov said that Goncharov was trembling in front of him, and suggested that they sort things out right now. After this, a fight broke out between the fighters.
