SKA is one step away from advancing to the next round of the Gagarin Cup

SKA defeated Torpedo and took the lead in the Gagarin Cup playoff series with a score of 3-1

St. Petersburg SKA defeated Nizhny Novgorod Torpedo in the fourth match of the Gagarin Cup playoff series. The results are available on the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) website.

The meeting took place in Nizhny Novgorod and ended with a score of 4:1 in favor of the guests. Among the winners, Alex Galchenyuk, Arseniy Gritsyuk, Zakhar Bardakov and Marat Khairullin scored goals. Torpedo’s only goal was scored by defender Arseniy Varlakov.

Thus, SKA took the lead in the Gagarin Cup playoff series with a score of 3-1 and was one step away from advancing to the next round. The series will last until four victories. The next match will take place in St. Petersburg on March 9.

The current winner of the Gagarin Cup is Moscow CSKA. In the 2022/2023 season, the team won the trophy for the third time. The capital club defeated Kazan Ak Bars in a series of up to four wins with a score of 4:3. Previously, the army team won the KHL in the 2018/2019 and 2021/2022 seasons.
