Two-time Russian mini-football champion Vyacheslav Moskalenko died in the Northern Military District zone
Vyacheslav Moskalenko, a two-time Russian futsal champion as part of Dynamo Moscow, a former player of the Russian national team, died in the special military operation (SVO) zone. This was reported on the website of the Russian Futsal Association.
The circumstances and place of the athlete’s death have not been specified. Moskalenko was 43 years old.
The player has three victories in the Cup and one in the Russian Super Cup in mini-football. He also played 19 matches for the national team and scored ten goals.
In February 2023, the Russian silver medalist of the 2010 European Karate Championship, Secretary General of the Kyokushin Karate Federation, Sergei Uvitsky, died in the Northern Military District zone. It is noted that he died while performing a combat mission. When joining the ranks of the Russian army, Uvitsky said that many athletes “were looking for an opportunity to use themselves in a special operation.”
