The UAE has named the conditions for the extradition of the Spartak legionnaire to the Netherlands

UAE will extradite footballer Promes to the Netherlands upon receipt of extradition request

Legal consultant from the UAE Hassan Elhais named the conditions for the extradition of Spartak legionnaire Quincy Promes to the Netherlands. His words are quoted by “Championship”.

The expert said that the Netherlands must submit an extradition request to the UAE within 60 days. “The requested person may remain in custody until a request for extradition is received, such arrest may be terminated if the request is not received within 60 days,” he explained.

On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Dubai Airport for being involved in an accident and leaving the scene. Later it became known that the football player would not be sentenced to prison in the UAE – he would be punished with a fine. As a result, he will have to be able to return to Moscow.

On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019 the player was involved in transporting a large shipment of cocaine that belonged to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel. After the verdict was announced, the football player was put on the international wanted list.
