Tennis player Rublev said he was disappointed with the disqualification at the tournament in Dubai
Russian tennis player Andrey Rublev on Instagram (the social network is banned in the Russian Federation; it belongs to the Meta corporation, which is recognized as extremist in Russia and is banned) made a statement due to disqualification at the ATP-500 series tournament in Dubai.
The athlete said he was disappointed that he could not complete the semi-final match. He thanked the Association of Tennis Professionals (ATP) panel for upholding his appeal and returning his ranking points and prize money.
On March 1, during the semi-final match with the representative of Kazakhstan Alexander Bublik, Rublev swore at the line referee for a decision made not in his favor. After this, the Russian was disqualified and deprived of prize money and points.
Rublev later appealed to the ATP. As a result, his prize and ranking points for the ATP-500 series tournament in Dubai were returned to him.
