Adam Giza, from Upper Silesia, became known to the nationwide audience in 2017, when he started working in the morning TVP Info band as a weather presenter. Later, he became a co-host of the programs “The Day is Coming” and “It’s Talking About It”. However, from June 2023, he was also a reporter of “Wiadomości” on TVP1 and the host of “Panorama” on TVP2.

During the election campaign, the then opposition announced the depoliticization of public media, which came true on December 19, 2023, when the Sejm adopted a resolution on the restoration of legal order and the impartiality and reliability of public media and the Polish Press Agency. A day later, the signals of TVP3, TVP Info and TVP World were turned off, and “Wiadomości”, “Teleexpress” and “Panorama” were not broadcast.
Adam Giza most likely felt what was coming, because a few weeks before the changes came into force, he sent a statement to various editorial offices in which he informed that in “Wiadomości” he prepared “only medical materials, without a hint of politics.” However, this did not prevent it from disappearing from the air. He stopped appearing in news outlets on December 19.
At the beginning of this year, he gave a statement to “”, in which he said that he was still employed at TVP and “was ready to take up work at any time and return to the production of ‘Panorama’ or info services.” However, this did not bring Giza back on the air.

Last Friday, the YouTube channel of Bartłomiej Graczak, who was one of the most recognizable faces of TVP Info during the so-called good change. One of the viewers asked him why Polish Television did not show the meetings of the then opposition with voters during the rule of the United Right. Graczak explained that the presenters were not decision-makers.
This was also confirmed by Adam Giza, who directly stated that the program hosts have no influence on the content presented, and can only make cosmetic changes. “A logical presenter comes to work, receives sheets of paper with the text on the prompter. He can correct commas and sentence order. The editor is responsible for the content, who listens to the program manager, and the director listens to the director… The presenter often does not remember what he read after leaving the studio ! He played a role,” X wrote on the website.
However, the next entry of the former TVP journalist is much more interesting, in which he compared the role of a TV presenter with that of an actor. He believes that the only thing he could influence was his own appearance and skillful articulation. That’s why he thinks it doesn’t matter which station he worked at.
The actor playing the murderer also carries out the script… such a job. The presenter is there for reading. You can judge whether it articulates nicely, looks good and sounds great. The content is not dependent on it. In sum. I am completely indifferent whether I am sitting in the presenter’s chair of TVP Info, TVN24 or Polsat News. I will sit down and read what someone wrote, and the viewer should judge whether I was pretty, elegant and with good diction.
Patryk Michalski, a parliamentary journalist from Wirtualna Polska, reacted to these words. He said that a situation in which a journalist doesn’t care what he reads is a “total downfall.” Giza did not remain indifferent to these words either. He commented on these words in an emotional way and mentioned the situation of Sławomir Siezieniewski, who was supposedly suspended by the previous TVP authorities for interfering in the so-called white, i.e. announcements preceding the material.
