Chernyshenko said that the Games of the Future proved Russia’s leading role in sports
Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Chernyshenko made a statement about the Games of the Future. His words are quoted by TASS.
Chernyshenko said that the Future Games proved Russia’s leading role in sports. He emphasized that these were competitions at the intersection of traditional and e-sports, which were followed by the whole world. “We gave the sport an unforgettable experience. Future games have become a globally recognized brand and this is a huge success,” the official added.
On February 23, Latvia and Estonia suspended the licenses of hockey players who participated in the Future Games. Earlier, the Latvian Seimas adopted amendments to the Sports Law prohibiting national team sports from competing with teams from Russia and Belarus.
The Games of the Future took place in Kazan from February 21 to March 3. The international tournament features 21 innovative disciplines. They are based on a combination of physical activity, modern technology and the digital environment.
