According to the source, the Spartak legionnaire has currently left the police station in the UAE. At the same time, the timing of the footballer’s return to Russia has not been specified.
On February 29, Promes was detained at border control at Al Maktoum Airport in Dubai. The Dutchman was taken to the police station and was accompanied by red and white security officers.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019 the player was involved in transporting a large shipment of cocaine that belonged to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel. After the verdict was announced, the winger was put on the international wanted list.
