He noted that standing calf raises are best performed from a step or small elevation. “It’s important to rise up onto your toes as high as possible, tensing your calf muscles. The effectiveness will not be in the exercise itself, but in the number of repetitions,” said Prygunov.
In addition, the fitness trainer recommended additional weights. “The calf muscles are tough muscles, and using extra weight can make your workout more effective,” the trainer noted.
