Makhachev’s manager Abdel-Aziz said that he will hold at least two fights in 2024
Ali Abdel-Aziz, manager of the Russian mixed style fighter (MMA) Islam Makhachev, named the minimum number of fights that his ward will have in 2024. He spoke about this on The Schmo YouTube channel.
According to the manager, the athlete will enter the Octagon at least twice. Among possible opponents, he named Charles Oliveira, Arman Tsarukyan and Justin Gaethje. “Someone will fight Islam in June or July, someone else in November. Islam will fight on any date offered by the UFC,” Abdelaziz said.
On January 10, Makhachev announced the date and opponent for the upcoming fight. According to the current champion of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) lightweight, he is ready to meet Gaethje on June 8.
In total, Makhachev had 26 fights in his career, in which he won 25 victories, suffering only one defeat. The Russian tops the UFC rankings regardless of weight categories.
