The former Polish jumper hits Kruczek. “He is not the father of my success”

The case appeared in an interview with Jan Ziobro when one of the viewers was asked about the results of the women’s team and the jumper’s opinion about them. – This is not a reason to be proud and I am fully aware that the results in no way reflect what I am talking about all the time and what I am fully convinced of -.

Ziobro ostro about Łukasz Kruczek: He is not the father of my success

How does he comment on these results? – Łukasz Kruczek showed what a coach he is in Italy. After 2-3 years he returned to Poland and we can see the effects of this. We have a squad of women that jump poorly. You played my jump from Engelberg, which I won (it is about Ziobra’s only victory in the World Cup – ed.) And the situation was similar there. This start of the season was bad and we also jumped poorly. As you can see at the very end, there is a man behind Łukasz Kruczek, whose name is Piotr Fijas. And this is the man who is the father of this success – pointed out the jumper.

The jumper described why, in his opinion, that success was not due to Kruczek, who was then the coach of the national team. – Back then, he had the following vision: he would pick the best boys, that is me, Maciek Kot, and that we would roll the world. But we didn’t roll this world back then, because we just didn’t train with it. We were thrown into deep water, we came to Klingenthal, where Maciek Maciusiak, with whom we were working at the time, was with us. We presented ourselves well there, because Krzysiek Biegun won, I was ninth, but then Kuusamo, Lillehammer were there and we didn’t score there – commented Ziobro. He is not, however, correct when speaking in the plural. Ziobro did not actually score in Finland and Norway, but Kubacki, Kot and Biegun scored a total of 73 points there.

“It was an authority figure for me.” Ziobro draws attention to the work of Piotr Fijas

– Only after these two or three difficult competitions, I openly say to him: “Listen, there must be Fijas on the tower and he has to go. Because it doesn’t make sense otherwise.” And the father of this success is the man in the back, not the man waving his hand at me. He did all the work with me, put his heart in and it was an authority figure for me. I knew that if he said something to me and I did it, it was effective and the jumps were good – assessed Jan Ziobro.

We asked Łukasz Kruczek for a comment on the player’s statement, but he has not decided to answer us yet. Season 2013/2014 Ziobro finished in 25th place in the general classification. After the weekend in Engelberg, when he was still third in the second competition, he never stood on the podium of the World Cup, and since 2018, after being expelled from the PZN team, he did not appear at the start of the top-ranking competition in jumping.
