Russian national team goalkeeper Matvey Safonov admitted to having star fever
The goalkeeper of Krasnodar and the Russian national football team, Matvey Safonov, admitted that he had star fever. He spoke about this on the Russian national team’s YouTube channel.
“I can’t fully understand correctly whether I was consumed by star fever and whether I have any prerequisites for this,” the player said. He added that he believes it is right to doubt yourself.
According to Safonov, to prevent star fever you need to constantly analyze your actions. “I need to look back and see if I would have made the same decision earlier, or if there are some factors that change my behavior,” the goalkeeper added.
25-year-old Safonov played 18 matches in the Russian Premier League (RPL) this season. The Transfermarkt portal estimates his value at 18 million euros. He is the most expensive Russian goalkeeper.
