Producer Yana Rudkovskaya denied information about the collapse of the roof at the ice arena of the academy of her husband, figure skater Evgeni Plushenko. She commented on what happened in the Telegram channel.
Rudkovskaya said that the work on the roof was planned. According to her, one of the skating rink structures was damaged due to snow and freezing rain. To speed up the replacement of the beam, it was decided to cut the membrane covering and dump the snow into the arena.
Earlier, the Mash Telegram channel reported that on the night of February 25-26, the roof collapsed at the Plushenko’s Angels Academy skating rink in southwest Moscow. It was noted that there were no people in the building at the time of the incident.
Two-time Olympic champion Evgeni Plushenko created his own figure skating school in 2017. The second branch of the academy in the capital’s Troparevo district opened in December 2023.
