Russian coach Leonid Slutsky won the Chinese Super Cup with Shanghai Shenhua
The Shanghai Shenhua club, led by Russian coach Leonid Slutsky, won the Chinese Super Cup. This was reported by a Lenta.ru correspondent.
Shanghai Shenhua defeated Shanghai Port with a score of 1:0. Cephas Malele scored the only goal in the 55th minute. Slutsky won his first trophy with the Chinese team.
Slutsky’s signing of a contract with Shenhua became known on December 27. The specialist took charge of the club on January 1, 2024.
Slutsky’s last club in Russia was Rubin Kazan, where he worked from 2019 to 2022. He left the team of his own free will. The coach is known for his work at Krylia Sovetov, Moscow, CSKA, as well as the English Hull City and the Dutch Vitesse. In addition, from 2015 to 2016 he led the Russian national team.
