Dynamo hockey player Nikita Gusev broke the KHL record for most points in a season
Russian forward of Dynamo Moscow Nikita Gusev broke the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL) record for the most points scored in a season. Results are available on the league website.
Gusev scored his 86th point (23+63) in the 67th match of the season against Admiral Vladivostok. Previously, the record belonged to Metallurg Magnitogorsk forward Sergei Mozyakin, who had 85 (47+37) points in 60 meetings of the 2016/2017 season.
The meeting between Dynamo and Admiral ended in victory for the Muscovites in overtime. Dynamo reached the playoffs of the Gagarin Cup. They scored 94 points in 66 matches.
Gusev is the 2018 Olympic champion and winner of the Gagarin Cup as part of SKA St. Petersburg. The athlete returned to the KHL in 2021 after spending two seasons in the National Hockey League, playing for the New Jersey Devils and Florida Panthers.
