Spartak footballer Promes will appear in court in the Netherlands if he is not arrested
Spartak Moscow forward Quincy Promes, convicted in absentia in Amsterdam for drug trafficking, set a condition for coming to the Netherlands. RBC reports this.
According to the source, the football player contacted the country’s prosecutor’s office with a statement that he was ready to personally testify in the drug trafficking case. It is noted that the Spartak legionary will come to court on the condition that he is not arrested.
On February 14, an Amsterdam court sentenced Promes in absentia to six years in prison. According to investigators, in 2019, the forward was involved in transporting a large shipment of cocaine that belonged to Surinamese drug trafficker Piet Wartel.
In addition, in June 2023, a Dutch court sentenced Promes in absentia to 18 months in prison. The attacker was then found guilty of involvement in the armed attack and stabbing of his cousin.
