CSKA head coach Fedotov: the club is working on extending Chalov’s contract
CSKA Moscow head coach Vladimir Fedotov spoke about the future of striker Fedor Chalov in the team. His words on Wednesday, February 21, are quoted by “Championship”.
Fedotov noted that the club is working on extending Chalov’s contract. “It’s always difficult when you have to make an important strategic decision. It’s difficult to completely distance yourself from the contract situation,” the coach said. He added that if a player remains in limbo for too long, he risks losing his place in the first team.
25-year-old Chalov has been playing for CSKA since 2016. The player’s current agreement with the army team runs until December 2024.
This season of the Russian Premier League, CSKA scored 28 points in 18 rounds and is in eighth place in the championship table. Chalov took part in all 18 matches, in which he scored eight goals and three assists.
The Transfermarkt portal estimates Chalov’s value at 12 million euros. In 2019, the English Premier League club Crystal Palace showed interest in the player. At that time, the player’s value was 16 million euros.
