The IPC provided Russian swimmers with 42 quotas to participate in the 2024 Paralympics
Russian swimmers received quotas to participate in the 2024 Paralympic Games. President of the Russian Paralympic Committee (RPC) Pavel Rozhkov reported this to TASS.
The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) Swimming Committee provided Russian athletes with 42 quotas – 21 each for men and women. “The number was determined based on the results of athletes’ performances at competitions included in the IPC rating list, including those held on the territory of the Russian Federation as part of the Summer Paralympic Games “We are together. Sports”, Russian championships and all-Russian competitions,” Rozhkov explained.
On September 29, 2023, the IPC announced the admission of Russian athletes to the 2024 Games in Paris. Individual athletes will be able to take part in the tournament in a neutral status.
In 2022, the IPC denied Russian athletes entry to the Paralympic Games in Beijing. Initially, the Russians were allowed to compete in a neutral status, but then the decision was changed.
